Procedure
Americas
-
Ecuador
The U.S. Embassy Quito issued the
following Warden Message on December 5, 2006:
On December 7, 2007, the Embassy of the United States of America in
Quito, Ecuador, will introduce a new Visa Information Service. This
service, which is currently available in the Consular District of
Guayaquil, will be extended to residents of the Quito Consular
District. The Visa Information Service, based on similar models
operating today in more than 40 countries across Europe, Africa,
Latin America and Asia, provides timely and accurate information to
the public regarding how to apply for a visa to enter the United
States of America. The US Visa Information Service will be provided
to the public on behalf of the US Embassy in Quito, Ecuador, and
Computer Sciences Corporation in partnership with the TeleTech Call
Center located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Callers will be able to access
information on nonimmigrant visas to the US and all the requirements
in order to apply for a visa. If required, call center operators
will assist the applicant in scheduling a visa interview
appointment. All immigrant visa interviews for applicants in Ecuador
are currently scheduled through this service.
All nonimmigrant visa interview appointments previously scheduled
through Banco de Guayaquil will be honored and applicants will not
need to confirm or reschedule them. Starting December 7, if a
nonimmigrant applicant with an appointment scheduled through Banco
de Guayaquil in the Quito Consular District needs to cancel or
reschedule they must call the Visa Information Service.
Callers will be able to speak with operators in either English or
Spanish. The service will be available to the public from 8:00 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. To access the service, one has to
call 1 800-010-145 using a touch-tone phone, visa applicants will
need to obtain a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for US$12.00.
You may obtain a PIN at any branch of Banco de Guayaquil. You will
be able to access the Visa Information Service immediately after you
make your payment. Please keep the Bank receipt as your PIN will be
printed on it and you will need it when you call the Service.
Alternatively, you may also obtain a PIN using your Visa or
