Jordan
Travel Warning
This Public Announcement is being issued
on
April 13, 2004 to apprise
U.S. citizens of the Department's concern regarding the security situation in
Jordan. This Public Announcement expires on July 7, 2004.
The Government of Jordan recently announced that it took steps against a terrorist cell,
which had targeted several Government of Jordan facilities. The U.S. Department of
State was informed that subsequent information indicates the U.S. Embassy in Amman was
also a target. This development is a reminder that terrorist groups, including
al-Qaida, continue to prepare to strike U.S. interests abroad.
