U.S. Embassy Podgorica
released the following Warden Message on March 21, 2011:
Today (March 21, 2011) from approximately 11:30am to 2:00pm, protesters will
be marching from the Moraca Sports Center located across from the Embassy to
the Parliament building on Blvd. Svetog Petra Cetinjskog 10 in Podgorica.
The demonstration is expected to be peaceful. However, even demonstrations
intended to be peaceful can turn into confrontational situations, possibly
escalate into violence and so should always be avoided. The Embassy is
advising American
citizens to avoid the area where the demonstration is occurring.
U.S. citizens living or
traveling in Montenegro are encouraged to register with the U.S. Embassy in
Podgorica through the
State Department's Smart Traveler
Enrollment Program,
so that they can obtain updated information on
travel and security within Montenegro. By registering, U.S. citizens make
it easier for the U.S. Embassy to contact them in case of emergency. The
